The term Balloon Sculpture is tossed
around too much. It seems like every clown that is out there is
calling his dog and pony balloons a sculpture. It is true that a
sculpture is a three-dimensional piece of art.
But I also think that the term sculpture should imply a level of
complexity. Sculptures are a very high level of expression in the
world of art. They expression what an artist cannot express in books,
on canvases or in music. They are usually fashioned out of metal or
stone. This takes a long time and a lot of work. Should a one-balloon
dog that is made in a minute really be called a sculpture? I think
not.
Thus I propose that a balloon sculpture from here on out be known as
the complex fashioning of multiply balloons in the artistic expression
the artist.
